Machines like this remind me how much I like a nice tractor. Its like bikes, I'm generally not bothered about them but one thats put together with nice bits generally has more of it on show than a car.

This was the 'Little Tractor that couldn't' on Saturday It couldn't go on the Purbeck Tractor Run because the big tractors wouldn't let it! 42 miles at 15mph tops but down to 5mph on steep hills didn't make it feasible. 5 plus hours in the saddle makes for a very numb bum. Have a short video of a few bigger tractors arriving for the climb up to East Hill

Borrowed this Oliver to smooth out my stone driveway. Worked a treat, he has three - two diesels and this gasser.

That's odd ours will do 13mph uphill, also 13mph on the flat, never had to drop down a gear unladen on the road. A Hessian sack stuffed with straw on the seat is the traditional solution to a numb bum.

The governor spring has been changed to the tractor version which helped loads. The other is a 1949 petrol converted to TVO with a decompression plate and the heated manifold etc. Both go about the same

Try a new governor spring and check the adjustment of it, that made a world of difference to the bailer engine. It's been a while since we rebuilt ours but it's all in the pdf manual that's around on the internet.
TVO mix 4:1 kero:petrol plus a shot of 2 stroke oil or red diesel for added lubrication. Thermostat needs to be working correctly otherwise they will foul plugs if not running warm enough.
I can't imagine yours could possibly be that worn out to be that low on power but still run.

An Allis-Chalmers and a Renault Vineyard tractor we just sold at October Auction. Both off to local small holdings to be enjoyed and used.

Back in August my brother sustained a badly broken leg (main bone just below the knee and both bones near the ankle). One of his mates lent him this new Tuatara 4x4 so his missus or any spare person could drive him around the farm and do the chores under his direct supervision. In September I managed to come to an arrangement with the company I work for enabling me to work remotely from the home place so as to be available to assist my brother. This was a win for all concerned. My brother got his farm chores done for him, I wasn't using my annual leave to do it, and my real job still got done. Beginning of October the owner of the Tuatara took it back cos he needed it for his workers to use on a job site. Since then we've been driving around on this. A John Deere 1750 from the late '80s. I'm sure it's safe to tow the palm kernel feeder trailer on this wee chain.
