the best part is the rear, the axle trans is cut open, and the axles are driven by huge chains. The top of the trans is open, so the chains are basically coming out of a huge oil bath.

Lamborghini will be building five tractors with the Centenario name, each with a price of approximately £214,000. That’s actually a pretty standard figure in the tractor world, though such machinery often comes with a few more features, and you know, functionality as a tractor.

Still, two Centenario Tractori models are said to already be sold, and as word gets out, the remaining three likely won't last long. Be quick, supercar-loving agriculturalists.

I pulled the 4 cylinder tractor engine out and lowered the 354 in its place. The hemi was particularly well-suited for mounting in the tractor in that it had flanges with bolt holes on the 4 corners. That made it suitable for bolting to four 1/2" thick steel plates that were welded to the cast-iron frame members of the tractor. Everything fit inside the frame except for the starter, which stood out too far, so we had to make a rectangular cutout in the frame (which was about 1" thick). In order to not weaken the tractor frame, we welded a 1/8" plate over the hole on the outside. That procedure gave the extra 1" clearance that the starter needed. Now that the engine was placed, I had to deal with getting the power to the tractor transmission. The Chrysler had "Fluid Drive", so I threw away the torque converter and found a suitable 13" clutch in a Dodge truck in a local junkard (in Emerson, Ia.). I got a tailshaft from the truck as well, and had it lathe-welded to a stub of the tailshaft from the tractor. I also needed to attach a flange-mount ball bearing (mail-order from Grainger, Inc.) to the rear of the bell-housing to support the tailshaft.
