Can anyone recommend someone who can transport a car shell that's on a pallet. Pick up location Wakefield delivery to Luton. Its a Foxbody mustang convertible thats had its drivetrain stripped which is common unfortunately. I would love to save this.

Avoid Any Van / they were paid to collect a Reliant shell from a property that was unoccupied and instructed to phone the occupier and wait for him to walk down the lane. Far too easy / driver said he phoned car shell owner then drives off without waiting to collect my car shell. Car shell owner assumed driver never turned up as he never got a call. Hours later i get a text saying collection not possible. Rang Anyvan / 100 excuses but no refund or offer to go back to collect/ finally got the owner to borrow a flat bed transit and he just charged me fuel money but there are probably lots of decent firms out there who will do the job / maybe Anyvan cos maybe i just got a duff admin and driver but some how doubt it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

If its just the body why not just hire a flatbed transit pick up, get your mates together and go and lift it onto the bed yourselves? Years ago one of my friends bought a mk5 Cortina shell, and four of us lifted it onto a flatbed transit without too much of a struggle.

With regards to anyvan I am a transporter on their site - last job 2 years ago! they used to be very similar to shiply and there was no issues. In recent years they have taken it upon themselves to offer a quote and then try and organise couriers at their rate rather than let them bid, and now I no longer check or bid. I think you can still list a job and request bids rather than pay up front if you can then thats a good way to go. Much like shiply you get to choose a courier and check their history and feedback. I'm still on shiply and can't really fault them. I do have the ability to do this job although I'm 60 miles north of Wakefield so my price would likely not be much good.
With regards to the job, a mustang on a pallet? They're big units how big is the pallet?! Is it not prone to wobble? sounds like a risk to me as a transport provider, if I was to do it I would want to see a picture I don't like turning upto jobs on people's descriptions especially when they're like not complete etc.
Try the pony express section of this site try also shiply and anyvan by all means but a picture will help as will descriptions of help or loading facilities at either end.
Good luck.

Any Van asked for payment up front / seemed professional but let down by the actual collection guy but maybe they learnt from that mistake ?

They might well have changed format completely since I used them last then, wouldn't suprise me when they started offering the service of organising themselves it went downhill. Shiply is spot on they just put you in touch not try and organise your jobs.
