I've insured my van with Adrian Flux. It's a French import but has no log book yet so is insured on just the chassis number. First they quoted £170 but I said no so they came back with £107👍

My Renault 5 is an import from Jersey! Went through the usual confused.com sites and Lancaster insurance came out cheapest (for a limited mileage classic policy), clicked through to their website and got the we don't insure imports, with nothing to lose but a few minutes I phoned them, turns out they do insure imports they just need some further info, honoured the price quoted on confused too, and included commuting on my policy too.

I've got my Trabi insured with Footman James this year, but used Adrian Flux previously. Both will be fine with imports.

Since the insurance policy's cost is influenced by many factors, the most correct decision is to find a professional broker who will help you choose exactly the policy you need. To minimize risk, it is worth contacting only licensed insurance agents or large insurance companies. If you wanna save your time, you can look here average car insurance cost per month. Don't be tempted for low insurance prices, as they often mean short-term benefits and a possible big loss in case something unpleasant happens on the road.

Do they really care if it’s an import? I’ve had my Delorean since 06 & had a Camaro for about 4 yrs, I never even mentioned it, I just worked on the assumption if they didn’t realise they must be crackers.

They do if it's a non domestic market equivalent as a simple bump can be a total loss.

They do if it's a non domestic market equivalent as a simple bump can be a total loss. So how does that work then? Example- Delorean worth approx £40k- panels virtually impossible to find - £90 a yr fully comp on agreed value, I don’t get it

Bumping this to the top as my insurance is due - are all the above suggestions still valid? Japanese import. Currently with Adrian Flux which, for obvious reasons, makes me a little nervous. Used to be with Brentacre but they don't cover hybrids anymore. Would be nice this year if modifications are allowed...
