I believe it was some kind of undercover surveillance vehicle and it was originally red.
I’m thinking maybe 7x13 superlites or banded MGB rostyles
I really don’t know what to do with the paint yet, I don’t want to spend £££ plus my last experience with a bodyshop put me off of ever having a full respray ever again

Just cries out for white stripes &/or signage livery doesn't it! Glad it still looks like a manageably sized project alongside the others.

My aim is to have it on the road inside a month then put some miles on it before I start with any mods

Looks a cracking van. I have owned many marina's and ital's but never a van and I had forgotten how cool the interiors are. The SU's on my SD1 were just as gummed up. The black plastic sheet is it some kind of tar?

Yes it was sticky tar type stuff a bit like sound deadening you’d stick on the inside of the floor

Yes.! Liking this indeed. Never got Itals over here but I find the frontal treatment grows on you. Meanwhile I am plugging on with a Marina version..

Nice van. And I’m sure a rewarding project. Love those 80’s Austin rover badges like you have on front grill.

I've a set of MMAA's (similar to the below) that should fit if any good? Came off my Celica and am unlikely to use them on that again. Interesting where the van came from, regularly drive past there on my way to my parents place near Rye.

28 tiny screws and two bits of tin later and the passenger side looks like this This is turning into a bigger project than I had planned for

I do like the gas van but that would mean a full paint job inside and out
