Dolomite Sprint running Sierra discs and calipers up front. I have checked the disc run out and it's 2 thou max. Greased the slider pins. Wheel bearings are ok.
No sign of wheel balance weights but I get no vibration at speed.
Any other suggestions on what could cause the judder ?

Almost certainly warped discs, are there any signs of deposits on the friction surface?

Agreed - doesn’t have to be actual runout but a hard spot on the disc will do it.

Also, are the mating faces clean and free of grot? Wouldn't take much there to knock out the disc out of running true

Inner track control arm bush winding up and releasing. Famous on escorts.

The discs are not that old and are very clean all over. Look almost new. They have seen some hard track action already though. If they were warped I would expect to see a bigger deflection with a DTI gauge. I was starting to think it could be unrelated to the brakes even though it only does it on braking. Track rods are an interesting point. Not sure what you check though if they are not seized.

Not the face of the discs, the mounting face of the hub assembly Just a small bit of grot in there would cause steering judder under braking

I had this on a BMW. Thought it was brake discs, actually turned out to be worn suspension bushes.

Is it there from cold or only once the brakes get hot?

I can also confirm that worn bushes (Esp TCA) can cause this - massive problem on Capri's

If you've checked the run out and its that low straight to bushings for me. my E46 3 series was a curse word for it.
