Posting this for a mate and because I thought my fellow RR'ers might be interested, but if I'm breaking any rules, please remove it.
I've driven the truck and it's very wide on the back roads around Kent. It was also my first ever drive of any kind of American V8, let alone a leaf sprung 4X4 pick up! So my impressions may not help! But I'm guessing it drives as it should, i.e. like a big 80's V8 4x4 on jacked up suspension!
4x4 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 5.7 350ci v8 Pickup £7,500
My mates advert:
I have finally come to the conclusion that I am not going to do justice to all my cars, and therefore this one is reluctantly for sale.
It is fully UK registered and has the V5c in my name. It is MOT'd to January 2019. It was built in Janesville and sold to its first owner in California.
It was imported to the UK in 2002.
It has recently had engine and gearbox oils and filters changed, and the brakes were overhauled by the local garage last year to include a new master cylinder. It also received a new (secondhand) Rochester carb to allow it to get through the emissions test for an MOT.
The body is solid in all the right places, but has had two patches at the base of the B pillars a number of years ago. The rear of the cab is in need of some repair. The paint has been affected by the Californian sun and has lifted in places as can be seen on the photos showing clean black undercoat.
There are a few rust stains from surface rust, the worst apart from the cab rear edge as already mentioned is under the trim on the tailgate. The load area has been fully lined with a welded in chequer plate. The suspension has been professionally raised to give it the monster truck look.
Please see the images to show what has been done. The 4x4 system and freewheeling hubs all work as they should, and the BF Goodrich tyres it sits on all have nearly a full compliment of tread.
The interior is all there apart from one door pocket, but is a little tired as would be expected for a 1985 truck. I have a pair of chrome rocker covers which will go with it.
I am looking for offers in the region of £7500. Please ask any questions you may have, I recommend coming to see it in the flesh. I am near Folkestone in Kent.
Please contact Charles Harrison on triumphworks@btinternet.com with questions, for more pictures or even to view!
