My next door neighbour has got a Z28 Camaro, I would guess late 70s/early 80s. He has got a problem with the PAS, from what I can gather it's not operating at tickover, there dosn't seem to be any resistance when you spin the pump pulley by hand (while still in the car) - is this normal?? I'm not sure if the pump is the right one for the car, looks Vauxhall-ish to me......
Any ideas?

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

it would look vauxhall ish its GM sounds like the pump could be knackerd does it make any funny noises one way to check (but a bit messy) would be to remove the outlet pipe place a finger over the hole and turn it if it squirts fluid out the pump is working how far it squirts out would be anyones guess but would give an indication to what the condition of the pump is hope this helps

Thanks for the info, might be worth a try esp. as it won't be me that gets fluid up their sleeve..... ;D
