Good afternoon
I am looking for some small compression springs - is there a good specialist supplier or even the equivalent of bearing factors please?
The spring in question has a wire diameter of 1.0 mm, an internal diameter of 12.0 mm and a length of 17mm. Obviously longer springs can be cut down but the internal diameter is pretty critical.
Many thanks

Some places like bearing suppliers have spring assortment boxes, trade ones probably from lee springs or somewhere similar not one from Halfords. I went into my local one the other day and they had left them out on the counter. I haven't looked but somewhere like Cromwell tools might have some.

Thank you for the replies.
This morning I have trotted around most of the local factors, machine suppliers etc and in fairness have been given a variety of springs.
Unfortunately, none are the right size.
It looks like I may need to try the specialists.

How critical is the application? I needed some a similar size recently and made my own from bike spokes, but piano wire is available in more variety of sizes. There are videos on YouTube on how to do it, the mandrel size is a bit trial and error.

Hi, I'm retired now, but when I was in gainful employment we used "Small Order Springs" for prototyping etc. They are in Uxbridge and have a website you should easily find. Good Luck.
