Is that an Overdrive box fitted to the gear box? Yes, as original equipment to the TR4 range, A type overdrive with overdrive working in 2nd/3rd and 4th. We also fit a 'logic' box to the overdrive system so when you change gear it automatically disengages overdrive, up or down the box. With this one being a long distance cruiser, an overdrive box is necessary. #2 & #3 will have a different type of gearbox altogether for racing. Thank you
If only the modern cars were as advanced as the TR range was in it's time we would still enjoy driving rather than just a to b.

This is one of the best looking cars I´ve seen. I´m scared to even ask how much one of these bodies would be.

The pictures above are as we received it from the bodybuilders. Timeline around Sept 2017.
Plenty of work to be done before we can think about paintwork...
As this one is going to be a road car, we are installing electric windows, fine wire heated front screen, possible central locking, bespoke handmade interior, the steering column took us 60 hours to design alone!!
The problem we have is time.....
More to follow

Now did Triumph take the headlight design/idea from the Lotus Elan or was it the other way around?
Very nice work with making the headlights and the mechanism.

Now did Triumph take the headlight design/idea from the Lotus Elan or was it the other way around? Very nice work with making the headlights and the mechanism. The original SLR didn't have lights, they were fitted very low down in the front panel. Seeing as #1 is going to be a road car, we decided that they had to be legal..! They had to work properly.. And of course, they needed to look good We purchased a set of f/g elan headlamp moulds but couldn't make it work how we wanted it to, so they were put in the bin and the fun began! The other 2 SLR's we have been commissioned to build will be FIA race cars so the headlights will be different again!! Tom

Ok Thanks Tom
The whole car looks so much cooler than an Elan not that they are not nice.

So I really, really, really want to rebody a Daimler Dart with one of these shells. Now that would be seriously cool. Perfect match to the neat little mini-hemi V8
