I have a lot of baked on thick diesel on a engine in difficult places to clean and need to get it off to pull the injectors . A mechanic i spoke to today said that there is a specific product available to do this which came a s a surprise to me .
Does anyone know of such a thing actually exists as i either cannot find it or cannot think of the right search terms to find such a thing . Have used oven cleaner so far but if there is something better that would be good to know.

Halfrauds sell "gunk" by Jizer.tin of it about a fiver.
Brush on, leave, agitate, rinse off.
I used it extensively on a 71 minor. Years of caked up engine.

Pressure washer is usually enough.

Can you get the nozzle of a steam cleaner in? Its usually virtually turned to carbon, hence oven cleaner working.

Nah , if the engines cold its like rock hard anthracite or coal . If the engine is warm its like toffee . Down in the valley around the injectors [ which have to come out ]
Had some success with oven cleaner and a large syringe with tubing but was looking for something faster . White spirit was ok as well might try that and leave it for a few hours .

Mercedes CDi? Renault dCi? Vauxhall CDTi?
Those seem to be the worst candidates for leaky injectors with the horrible black wibblepoo they spew!

Ah yes, the Vauxhall 1.9. Famous for it. Are you replacing injectors? We had a batch of wibblepoo diesel a couple of years ago and it wiped out a full set of injectors on a mates car, one at a time. Painful to change.

The previous owner , a work colleague had them done 30k or so ago but to are blowing out from the bottom . Think its any car that uses this particular bosch injector . Not a great fan of this engine apart form it going quickly when it works .

if a paint brush can be used to agitate the area then I would also use petrol too
