I have been away from the forum for a while mostly because I am renovating a house and partly because I went and bought a Porsche 944. It's the sort of car that puts a smile on your face when you drive it. Very long box, so it's happy doing bends between 40mph and... loosing your license. It is a car that I bought for probably 2k too much but it's solid. It needed a heap of small, annoying jobs done: Sunroof opening but not closing - waiting in sunroof switch replacement and limyer switch No.2. Rear hatch sticky - replaced gas struts and both latches and also the latch rubbers and pins. Oval dash - broken and missing mileometer zero. Steering wheel - past it's sell by date. Heating facia panel replaced. Glove box light fixed and replaced. Gear stick boot replaced. Radiator overflow insert broken and leaking fluid onto the fan draining the battery - replaced whole radiator with a full Aluminium one. Instrument cluster - heat dial fixed, changed lights to LED's. Micro switch on OS door handle dicky so replaced. Clock not working and found a second hand one for decent money. Cracked front fog light replaced. Cracked front OS indicator lamp changed. NS wheel arch replaced. Fuel pump replacement. Bought a complete interior screw kit from the US. Sooo handy. Still need to: Replace headliner. Sort out intermittent stutter under acceleration (speed sensor). Sort out electrics on passenger seat. Replace door lock barrel on drivers door. Replace fuel filter to pump pipe (it's in a box in the corner, and the old one os holding up). These are pics I took not long after buying it and after detailing the bodywork and giving it a Fusso soft coat.

I was ( long time ago) looking at a 928s. I ended up talking to a gentleman and he told me that all 928s' were $50.000 He said if you buy it for $10.000 you have to spend $40.000. Buy a good one for $45.000 and you only have to spend $5000 to make it your own. I think that $50.000 might be a bit rich but I do believe the essence of the story. Better pay a bit more and have a good base than buying a pile of cr@p for little....
Anyway I really like your car
