What ho, chaps.
An idea has formed in my head (another one, I know) which may never come to pass, just wondering what sort of work I'd have to undertake, or if anyone has attempted anything similar, and possibly if someone can give me some measurements.
So, for one reason or another, I'm keeping my Felicia longer than I thought I would (I'm not exactly sad, it's still a good dog). So to put my own quirky (stupid?) touch to it, I've been wondering how tough it would be to swap the grille, bumper, headlights, indicators etc for that of a Mk1/Mk2 Golf.
Initial thoughts over a bacon sandwich this morning were as follows:
-Will the grille be approximately the right size? If someone can help me with some measurements that would be lovely
-I have no problem wiring lights in for the adaptation (as far as I remember the indicators are in the bumper, so I don't mind DIYing that job)
-Can I get away with not replacing the wings with judicious use of filler and a sander? Since it's matte black it might not look much worse with that
-Would a Mk2 Polo grille/bumper be easier to fit?
-How easy/difficult would it be to get the Golf bumper to fit?
-Would it end up looking like one of Bernie and Lepu's efforts?
Any answers/thoughts/photoshop mockups/criticisms are, as always, greatly appreciated!
