There is a balance/vibration chunk of metal on my 155’s outer driveshaft, I am refurbing them so wanted it removed, 2 small Allen headed bolts, first one flew out, 2nd broke.
Luckily it left enough to get moles on, I put the blowtorch on the case for 5 minutes, nothing, 10 minutes and still nothing, decided to drill.....
More heat, stud extractor snapped flush, there then followed a period of much swearing before looking online and finding out it’s a royal pita.
Went back to it this morning with a thought, I can get to the other side of the chunk and I had already drilled the stuck bolt right through.
Multi tool armed with a fine point grinder I enlarged the hole, inserted a nail and walloped it with a big hammer, broken bit of extractor shot straight out.
