Just thought of another interesting cost of my old 90.....
I nuked 4 tyres in about 4000 miles....
that said.... It was a cracking car, and I WOULD own another.... (although would probably go for an S2)
;D

Rainking, Matt who owns that Audi A8 that was up at Boneshakers used to own an S2 Avant - that was a really nice car (I prefered it over his current car) Uber quick, very well made - and drank fuel like it was going out of fashion ;D Strangely though the S2s really hold their value, where-as the 20v quattro and lesser models seem to go for peanuts by comparison

I used to get 25mpg out of my old Audi V8 quattro which was more than I was expecting. I always drove like a proper ponce mind you.

i've got slightly less than the asking price in my pocket, i've got a friend coming round who's not likely to be dazzled by the noise and price (in fact he'll probably tell me it's a rusty pile of curse word) so i'm going back for the final time today. i went yesterday and ran it for a while, the tapping noise went as soon as the oil warmed through so that's ok. it revs ok, i drove it about three inches and the clutch is ok... they'll shift the other scrap out the way for me today to let me give it a whizz down the yard. my G40 is up for sale (see for sale ads) so i need something cheap - basically i'm getting married next year so the cash will be a big help! i like that avant though ^^^^ that's lovely. how do i get the all-red back lights for the 90? oh and i've got my eye on a few ebay auctions with the bits i need to get it roadworthy - headlight and rear light

I'll do you a good deal on anything you want.... Not sure about the all red rear lights.... You could get all smoked ones as an option from new (my uncle had a 90 and 2 coupe's from new) Are the wheels corroded to feck? the speedlines are VERY prone to it... (mine were shot to bits...)

the wheels are a bit grubby, bit salty but not actually missing any metal - in fact they're in bloody good nick! just in need of a clean i reckon. i've got a confession - i've just bought iti went in with my mate who told me to 'turn the engine off, stop revving it, stop playing with the goodies and how much is it gonna cost ya?' New rear centre strip - £25 ebay New headlight - £25 ebay new ignition switch (the actual barrel is fine) - £20 GSF bit of filler (I know, i know) - £10, paint another £10 so that's under the tonne, which is exactly what i haggled off the price cos i just handed over £275 and got the keys and logbook into the bagain which ain't bad for a stolen recovered! went up the road to put a fiver of juice in (i heard it echo as it hit the bottom.... uh oh) and the brakes are a bit jerky but it has been stood for ages. worst case it needs new pads and disks, whoop de doop GSF's finest cheap stuff i'm a happy chappy! now BUY MY POLO
