Yet another obscure part I've gained. Its a carbon release bearing, part no 40295. I know similar ones were fitted to XK Jags, MGA's and so on, but I can't find anything on this part no. Anybody got a clue for the fitment? Cheers  |

Hi, Hillman Hunters use the same design, there are at least 2 sizes - larger "GLS/Holbay" and smaller "1500 aka non-GLS" I'll try to measure up later, but there's a poor photo on the last page of my build thread to get you started.  |

Looks very similar to a Morris Minor 1000 one.

Thanks all, my google-fu must be weak, maybe its the snow, but I can't find anything with this part no.
I wouldn't think its anything too exotic though, so moggy/hillman sounds about right.

I have a 1984-1985 QH clutch parts book with cross-reference in the back, unfortunately the Borg and Beck list jumps from 40150 to 45585/10. The SKF and Timken "master interchange" books don't list it, but they're quite US-oriented.
