A long long time ago, back in the eighties I was at secondary school and in their library they had a book about car repair. It was clearly aimed at the older child and was done in an almost comic book style. It featured two fellas, one maintained his car to the best of his abilities, and one didn't bother with maintaining his car, and therefore was constantly breaking down etc. Does anyone know the book I'm on about? Does anyone know the title of the book, or its author? Does anyone even own a copy?

It's the sort of thing I would remember but don't unfortunately.
Was it done with proper photos or was it drawn ?
Can you remember if it was a hardback or what sort of size it was ?
Might help someone remember.

It was a hardback book, kinda like a coffee table book in size, pretty much square as I remember. The pictures were all drawn.

I never thought of that, yes, it's still there... Sort of, it all got demolished and rebuilt, but my daughter goes there now, I'll get her to have a look! I never even thought about that, thanks  |

I had a book 'Three men went to work' where one of the stories was about a recovery truck driver, who picked up a car after there'd been an accident. Not very PC IIRC because one of the drivers in the accident was hanging out of his window telling the other he needed to learn how to drive!  |

This is obviously not the book you are remembering, but this what I had in my childhood in the 1950s:    I inherited a copy of that from my grandad a few years back. It's ace. |

That sounds like a Richard Scarry book - one of my biggest influences on my offbeat taste in vehicles i'm sure. |

I remember that book (I read it many times) but sadly I cannot remember the title nor the author. If anyone does remember, please pass on that info. It would be great to find an old copy of it!
