	So.... SWMBO's fiesta is an odd thing... and befor i pull the whole dashboard apart just thought i would pop a mention on here! Essentially, all the warnings/glow-plugs/speedo etc all work fine. However the dashboard back lights, the speedo rev counter etc which should all light up green only lights up after about an hour of driving! any thoughts? I thought maybe iffy switch, or a lose connection somewhere...? the dashboard isn't the original (mileages don't add up) so po must have tried to find a fault? gr electrics! personally i would just fit a little lights in there somewhere and have done with it but hey ho, that not the orders!

	something on the dash lamps loom poor connection, heats up after its been 'shorting' for a while and completes the circuit? Of course my brain may have fallen down the back of my neck

	I would pull the cluster out , check all the connections and then soak them in servisol switch cleaner and chuck it back together. it is pretty miraculous stuff for driving out electrical gremlins if the old "technical waggle" doesn't work!

	^ sensible suggestions above, maybe also swap a bulb for a new or known-good one? Can you get a multimeter in there to see what the voltage is doing on the lighting circuit? Older motors just have a 12 volt feed to the backlights, not sure if yours is or if it has some black-box controlling the voltage? For info, the modern "energy efficient" bulbs in my house do the same, I've been told it's prefectly normal. Maybe you have modrn bulbs fitted
