Hi everybody , I decide to introduce me after reading your really cool thread in "submarine" since some month. As you can read, I'm not so much comfortable with english language : I am french, from south of France, and in fact, I want to upgrade my english with your company ^^. To make matters worse, my web corrector don't want to translate in english, so I'm going to do very very much spelling errors..... Sorry about that ! Now, my ride. It's a 1989 citroen bx 19 gti in red "florentin", near first hand, with 100 000 kilometers in really good condition. I try to join some pics : ![](https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2018/06/7/1518367425-img-1424.jpg) ![](https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2018/06/7/1518367482-img-1432.jpg) ![](https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2018/06/7/1518367502-img-1438.jpg) ![](https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2018/06/7/1518367509-img-1435.jpg)

YES!
Welcome friend.
I love these. The yellow lamps look super cool. I have the genuine French glass bulb covers in my Deux-Cent-Cinq GTi, are the ones with the yellow reflector or yellow lens the OE French ones as there are several types available for the driving lights.

Thanks misters !
There are some car like this in france yet but yes, i'ts not easy to find in this condition.
I think so there's no yellow light in United Kingdom. Sam you have something unusual !
I tell myself sometime (if you live in england !), you have so much cool car like Hillman (Imp <3), Vauxhall, Triumph, Standard, some japenese car... And may be you say the same thing about France !
The bx is unusual in your countries ?

I'm a fan of the BX, had a 16v and a Zantia 16v the BX was better. I took the BX to France a few times always got attention.
Your English is far better than my French so don't worry.

Yes, we don't see many around to be honest, I can't remember the last one I saw on the road but I always drive past a white GTi on my way to some of my work.

BX is a cool car. I've sometimes dreamed owning a ph1 GT 19 or Sport.😊

Hi mate, I love your car. 20 years ago I didn't speak a word of English. I am now able to order a beer or 2 so, you will get there too mate!! Where about are you in the Southern part of France?
We are road tripping this year starting in Holland and via Austria, Italy to the France. We want to see Frejus, Monaco and everything in between.

Unfortunately there are very few BX's in general, the 16v variants have succumb to being engine donors and the rest are just old tired and usually rusty!

Thanks for your welcome and your cheer ! You see, like many french people, I evolve in "globich'" language, so I know some english words, may be I know to speak in English, but I don't know if I know because I never try ^^. So, I live in Grau du Roi, next to la Grande Motte, Aigues Mortes. Nice place, there is always good weather ! In France to, this kind of car becoming uncommon, the whole car fleet is more and more recent. There are still car like 405, 309, bx, renault 21 , 19....but in diesel for the most part. I like the bx, it may be the last French most identifiable, far from it ! And this style, delightfully 80' 90' ! Lovely car, your red GTi. I have owned a few CXs, best one was a verrrry smooth series one 2400 injection automatique with leather seats and chrome everywhere. Fantastic. A couple of years ago I needed a cheap family car: automatic, comfortable, fast, big versatile boot, cheap to repair. I found a 1989 BX Gti like yours but automatic, and manage to convince the family it would be a good car to use as a modern car. Only two owners, low mileage, very good condition, no rust problems. I loved it but my wife, daughter and son not as much so after two years it had to go because it was them who used it the most. Replacement is a 2004 Jaguar X-type 3.0 litre V6 Executive estate. If it were just me I would have found myself a nice CX series one injection automatic again, but then again I already have my classic cars to play with!

Just looks so right. Yes I got the French yellow bulb covers from a French guy on German eBay. In Ireland where I live, yellow lights are legal as long as in all lamps on the front hence why I’m looking for the lower driving lights
