Hello RR am I right in thinking that the exhaust cannot exit near a window or door, also can it exit any side of the car.
I have my 89 1600 fez 5 door and was thinking of being inventive with where to exit the exhaust. Was thinking in the rear wheel arch out the way. Does anyone no if I can do this or any cool ideas. Thanks in advance

Requirements
Complete, secure, without serious leaks and silences effectively.
Exhaust system
Test procedure
The exhaust system must be free from serious leaks or advanced corrosion. The entire system must be securely fixed to the vehicle as intended either by using exhaust mounts or the common rubber fitting mounts. The exhaust system must have the required number of silencers for your specific make and model of car. Your vehicle may fail the MOT due to noise levels if deemed to be excessive by the MOT inspector.
Nothing in there about direction of the exhaust or the tailpipe.

Perfect. Thanks guys. I'm going to run a acro bike back box and straight through as these fiesta go up and over the rear axle which I hate. So I'm going straight out under rear door towards axle. Will update with photo when complete. 👍

Sounds good. Only other problem I have is the fuel tank. Which sits just in front of the axle, so no might have to relocate tank as I don't fancy a fire. Hmm time for brain power

Reckon I might stick stacks on it for a laugh. Look really silly but hey.

I'm sure there are some regulations that determine where you are allowed to place it, probably in construction and use rather than MOT, but I've yet to find any !

C&U regs state that it shouldn't cause a danger, by sticking out or emissions, to pedestrians and fumes shouldn't be able to enter the cabin.

I would say if it’s likely to spit flames that it’s not aimed out the n/s at pedestrians 😜
Plus if it’s out the off side then you get the benefit of listening to it when driving 👍🏻
