Hi everyone, my civic has gone to a new home today. to be replaced by another honda. drive home was amazing, aggresive vtec, but the handling is real out there. 100 mile drive home just flew by, did'nt want it to end. a few jobs to do, but love it.

I had one of these in exactly that colour, Pirate Black. Bought it from someone I knew in Jersey, it had done 8,000 miles from new in 3 years just round the island. I loved it, eventually traded for a Golf MkIV R32 - which was also a great car but I always missed the Type-R. Here it is somwhere in Scotland.

mine originates from glasgow when new. heres a few more pics of new car, in its life its had about 6k spent on it, thats without service items, tyres, etc. its got braided brake hoses, silicone coolant pipes, s2000 injectors, baffled sump, uprated shocks, lowering springs plus lots of other bits here and there, rebuilt gearbox, cambelt with water pump couple years ago, expensive clifford alarm. has had dyno run, 210hp at wheels, also its been to the ring in its life. there are some jobs i need to do, but it is usable. flat tyres from where it had sat for over a year. passed MOT, bit suspect on that.

These are a great car with quite a cult following. I'm sure it will treat you well.
I do like these but bulkhead rot does worry me about these.

I like these a lot and have been keeping an eye out for one. Around here they are still quite pricey for a sub-starship mileage one.
Ideally I want a black one standard without the wing and then I'd remove the Type R badges.

Great cars, I've had mine for 3 years and 25k fun filled miles. The handling is unreal, the could do with a touch more power, but thats not really the point of them.
Prices have been so low for years, I paid £2k with 89k miles on. They're really starting to pick up as people realise they're the forgotten Type R.
Watch out for bulkhead under the dash on both sides, underneath the airbox, rearmost front subframe mounts and everywhere else for a 20year old J motor!
If you need any bits or advice drop me a pm..
Enjoy!!

at the moment i'm having concerns on how it got an MOT (MOT until 25 jan 19) as i've found a few faults with it that it should of failed on, has no front sidelights, washers not working at all, split driveshaft gaiter. these are just what i've noticed so far, checked bulkhead etc and all seems fine.

side lights fixed, took stupid led's out, normal bulbs fitted and they both work. bulb holders look like they have got a bit hot, anyone else had same problem?
also noticed headlights are led's, will see how these fare to whether i replace with normal bulbs.

Headlights are leds? They should be HIDs, what a strange think to do! A pair of headlights and ballasts will set you back about £80-100. Might be worth it to solve all problems in one hit!

The washers are quite weak on these, especially with lights on, start at the jets as these seem to block really easily, if you cant noticeably hear the washer pump then that will be worth a look too as they are pretty loud!

thanks.
headlights could well be hid's, takes about 1 sec to come on after turning switch.
can hear washer pump, tried clearing jets. will work my way through the pipe work.
i'm guessing there is a filter on pump?

I'd assume there's a filter on the pick-up in the tank, although I've never had any problems at that end!
Sounds you've got the standard HIDs there, they're good as standard so it would be a bit strange to swap to leds!

loss of contract hours at work is causing sale/swap of accord, love driving it but needs must, roof over heads is more important. more interested in swaps for something smaller, cheaper on tax and more fuel efficient(and no doubt non retro)
