BMW 525e 2.7 Zinnobar Red
Great 1985 BMW E28 525e 2.7 Automatic for sale in bright Zinnobar Red.
This is a pure and simple classic BMW, great to drive and makes for a great starter classic without breaking the bank and wears the last 32 years of careful use very well indeed.
A lot of the hard and costly work has been completed and is ready to use, show and enjoy. The 2.7 straight 6 is a pleasure to use with ample power and torque to get you where you need to be without fuss and isn't without the signature BMW straight 6 soundtrack from the moment you turn the key.
Totally unmolested with only 4 previous owners having the pleasure of use in the last 32 years. There is also no enlarged wheels or stiffened and lowered suspension which many have been subject to, this is an original blank canvas for the new owner to enjoy.
The specification isn't huge by todays standards but certainly serves its purpose.

These don't come up very often in a good usable condition with some history and stamped service book, some dating back to 1985 from BMW at 7463 miles and significant work completed in last 18 months or so which include:-
Repair to exhaust manifold and downpipe.
Front anti roll bar link dust covers.
Cambelt change.
Replacement of steering idler arm.
Front lower arm bushes.
Replace N/S/F lower ball joint cover.
Both rear inner driveshaft gaitors.
Both rear subframe bushes.
Replacement of park brake shoes.
Repair to O/S/F jacking point area.
Repair to both rear inner sills.
Replace radiator and water pump and flush system.
Replace both temperature senders.
Just the above totalled over £2,500.
Current mileage at 116361 and MOT to expire 12/7/18
Couple of defects to mention are the paintwork is old and tired particularly on the roof and boot lid, however is presentable as you can see from the pictures, the temperature gauge doesnt work due to an instrument cluster fault, the car has been run solid for over 2 hours with a laser temperature gauge keeping an eye on things and sits perfectly at the correct temperature but would rather the gauge worked, and the intermitent wiper feature is temperamental at times, assume a contact issue on the stalk or wiper relay.
