Can I get some exhaust advice please. Not worried about more power and want it reasonably quiet.
I'm bolting a 1.8 MX5 engine to my previously 1600 VW sandrail and currently working on exhaust routing. I can use the standard MX5 manifold and then down to 2x 38mm pipes (that have a crossover).
I want to re-use my twin Hayabusa silencer cans that I put on the VW engine, I am routing the exhaust under the transmission, then back round to the rear left of the car. The rusty section in the pic has a crossover between the two pipes (not visible in pic) and after that they are 38mm.
Should I
a) keep it as two separate 38mm pipes up to the cans or
b) join to one 51mm then use a small oval silencer then split out again to the cans?
