Hi all,
Just bought an E92 M3, and I still have my M5.
I want to sell the M5 but I am a little unsure about its value, I am the thrid owner I bought it of the estate of the person that bought the car new( the second was the original owner son and it was put in his name to sell after his father had passed). It has covered a 138000 miles and has full service history mainly BMW moving to an idpendent as it got older, it has always had the correct M5 Castrol oil through out its life, it was fitted with stoptec updated front brakes 5 or so years ago, at the same time the car had a lot of new suspension components @ 110000 miles.
It has heratage leather that’s in good condition and it drives very well although it does need some work, the rear discs need replaced due to brake shudder. The gear change is a litthe sloppy. Bar that it’s mechanical very good. The vanos is noisey for 2-3 seconds on start up then it’s silent.
The bodywork on the car is quite original and not the best to be honest it has 50 pence size rust spots on both rear arches, small amount rust on the bottom of the drivers door only visible on the inside of the door, the front bumper is very chippy and the towing eye cover is missing. The wheels need a refurb and both fronts tyres are low still legal but low.
Now I have looked at some for sale and the price of them are all over the place, I am unsure about getting the work the car requires carried out and asking more money for the car or sale as is for a cheaper price
All advice welcome
Many thanks JM
