	Running a 4age 16v atm, and while I was thinking of upgrading to a 20v head, I wondered wether I could play with slapping a m45 supercharger on for abit of poke. Question is...could I get away with basic boost on standard engine? And could I also get away without an intercooler?

	There is a variant 4A-GZE which is 16v and supercharged from factory, MK1 MR2 I believe. Might be worth looking into for ECU and things like that

	As the above post says go with the gze, far more straightforward. They also came in the ae101 levins

	4ZGE's are hard to get hold of now though. Levins/Trueno's are thin on the ground and supercharged MR2's are too expensive to source for an engine. Might be your only option if your set on it.
