One thing arrived for the MR2- The car came to me with a Fidanza lightened flywheel. It was beat to heck. The friction disc is nothing more than a steel plate. I cross referenced the numbers on the flywheel and guess what? They also use this same steel plate & bolts on a small Audi. I found this steel plate for 20 bucks shipped rather than 60+. I measured it, it's the right one. All new stuff, same light flywheel!

Here's the latest video in the MR2 Gen4 swap:
I do miss this little car, wish I had a few more like it!

That looks much better! Always nice when some quick research saves many pennies!

Wow, that looks pretty damn clean. I honestly thought that was a chargecooler, but looking at the pics its a top mounted intercooler like the Scooby ones! Nice! Stick it in something with that spare turbo....

Got the email today- the harness and converted ECU are SHIPPED!! That means in a very short time, this engine will FIRE! Oh man, this is going to be cool.
#excited!

The Conversion Harness arrived today. Great. Looks good, everything fits and even has the little clips to hold in in place. It was $474 with shipping. They did forget to send my ECU back, but I've already emailed them- I'm sure it'll turn up. Shouldn't be too much more work! Brackets all bolted on with very little fettling. The conversion harness is nice, happy with that.

It went into the car today. Struggled a bit, but it's hanging on the mounts. Now I can make a list of everything it needs to run!

Here are a few pics of the progress made today. It now has a pressure side fuel line, the main coolant lines, throttle connected, clutch connected but not yet bled, air filter tube into turbo, intercooler piping done-
Tomorrow it goes on it's wheels and we may try to fire it.
These three wires, not really sure what to do with them- I get it, the 12V I'll just connect to switched power, but the other two- no idea, I suspect they think I know more about these conversion harnesses than I actually do.

And one lone plug- near the top of the gearbox, around the starter area- cannot find where this thing went! They left it intact, in the harness, so it MUST go to something!

last plug looks like it goes on the air intake sensor which used to mount in the original airbox, looks the same as the sensor mounted on the engine lid.
your other 3 wires id guess are for a speedo convertor/delimiter from km to mph built into the loom.

I set it back down on it's wheels, all buttoned up underneath. Flat battery when I went to turn the key- It's on a charger now. Try again tomorrow. Just as a test fire mind you, not 100% connected everywhere yet. Cool little cars, these things!
