1991 Honda Civic 1.6i-VT (EE9)
B16A1 engine 150 bhp 1.6
A very rare car now. This car has been well looked after and is in extremely good condition for its age, this is the second time owning it. Prior to my first ownership period it was owned by my brother.
When I originally purchased the car in 2007 I had the rear arches replaced and some rust repairs to the doors. It was then wax oiled inside the panels, and inside and outside of the sills before the covers were put back on. It’s always been garaged in my ownership and only used during the summer months. However there are some small paint bubbles starting to appear on the rear quarter panels near where the arch meets the sill.
The engine and gearbox are the originals. The engine is in excellent condition. It has 189,000 miles but I suspect has had some work prior to my families ownership. Obviously at 27 years old it has stone chips but I have kept them touched in and aren’t noticeable unless you’re really close.
It drives very nicely and pulls very well.
The oil pressure is excellent even at oil temps over 100c See video -
Burns no oil – video here –
and is a strong engine. As expected on B series engines the LMA’s are a little noisy. Recent plugs, leads, fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor arm. Oil changed every spring and rarely does 1000 miles a year. Brand new fuel tank fitted as it was an advisory on the last MOT.

Spec-
• MOT until August 2018
• Currently SORN
• New standard radiator 2016 (NOT recon)
• New valve cover gasket 2016
• New Skunk 2 cam seal 2016
• New VTEC solenoid filter 2016
• New rear bumper support bar 2016 (genuine from Lings Honda)
• New Fuel Tank November 2017

• Good tyre tread on the standard wheels. (Economy tyres)
Bad points - I’m being as honest as I can, some issues are tiny.
• Some rust came through on the rear driver’s side rear arch and was replaced with a section from a repair panel. However the repair suffered some paint reaction but is only noticeable if you really look for it.
• Front bumper has some screw holes where a chargespeed rep lip was attached. (lip can be included at the right price)
• The standard wheels are in the original finish and will need refurbishing if you plan to keep them on the car.
• The carpet’s tired but I have a spare that will go with the car,
• No dash mat and evidence of an air freshener being stuck to the dash in the past.
• The Drivers side mirror has a replacement glass glued over the broken original but barely noticeable.
• The rear headliner has marks from where a brake light was fitted.
• Steering wheel leather is starting to show its age.
• There is some lacquer peel on the passenger rear quarter below the side window. I have tried to show it on the walk around video.
• The windscreen has a few chips.
• The windscreen surround has worn the paint down and there is some very light rust staining. I say staining as it’s not rot.
• The cam belt is coming up for replacement, it looks ok but is coming up the time to change rather than mileage. I’ve priced the car taking this into account.
Car located near Luton. Junction 11 of the M1.
I’m in no rush to sell, and as a Honda enthusiast I know what these cars are worth.
£3995 or sensible offer.
