HISTORY
Superspeed Conversions Ltd was a specialist racing company set up in the late '50s by two brothers, Mike and John Young in the East End of London. In the late '50s and through the '60s, Ford Motor Company did not have their own Works race team and outsourced this activity to three professional race car preparers. These teams were Alan Mann Racing, Broadspeed and Superspeed. During the Sixties, Superspeed operated from a garage behind the local Ford dealership at Ley Street, Ilford, East London and specialised in preparing and racing Ford Anglias for race drivers Mike and John Young, as well as Chris Craft and Nick Brittan. Highly regarded Superspeed Conversions Ltd would also convert new road cars for discerning buyers wanting sparking performance and bespoke performance solutions at a premium cost.
EQUIPMENT
Flared front and rear wheel arches, bonnet bulge, chrome door mirrors, Super Speed badges, anti-burst door locks, six dial dash, ammeter, tachometer, oil pressure gauge, heated rear window, interior light, Ford RS three-spoke leather sports steering wheel, padded dash, Modifications in brief: Ford Essex 3.0 V6, Type 5 gearbox, Capri Mk1 Atlas rear axle, front Bilstein suspension with uprated springs, Twin-Cam anti-roll bar, rear Spax shock absorbers, rear anti-tramp bars, brake bias pedal box, Wilwood 4-pot calipers, ventilated brake discs, adjustable thermostat cooling fan, Alley Cat alloys.

The padded dash top, fascia, instrument binnacle and doors cards are also in remarkable condition. Subtle upgrades such as the RS three-spoke leather steering wheel, battery isolator switch and carbon trim all work well together. Attention to detail even extends to colour coded door lock buttons. The boot area is spotless and houses the spare wheel and car battery. Stunning classic Ford fun.

HISTORY FILE
Radically modified Fords worked on by Super Speed Conversions Ltd received such enthusiastic praise for their sparkling performance but were enjoyed by only a handful of individuals due to the cost. The previous owner Mr Colin Waine, failed to find such a car but always wanted one, so embarked on building the perfect recreation. Registered on the 16th May 1972 and with just four former keepers an un-welded shell formed the starting point in this costly project. Respected within the Ford community, the Waine Brothers are renowned for building some of the finest recreations to grace the Ford circuit and KGF Classic Cars are very proud and honoured to be able to offer this special car to a very lucky new custodian.
MOT June 2018, Tax Exempt, HPI Clear.
