Can't make this as it's the wife's birthday on May 20th and death would be mine if I sodded off to a car show! 😆 Please tell me this isn't replacing The Gathering though? www.goodwood.com/estate/health-club/the-waterbeach-spa/Plus you get the added bonus of using it as ammunition should the cost of your hobby ever get raised. And the year after doing that, the need to worry about her birthday will be gone.

Regarding the above posts about cost and value for money... I'm a member of the Goodwood Marshals' Club and can tell you that the clubs who get the best value from sprint events are the ones with a good system of getting cars out of the paddocks at the correct time, and who understand which cars need to go first so they don't get held up by the slower ones!... If you want me to recruit some volunteers to assist with that process, I can ask Bognor Regis Motor Club (I'm the chairman) members who are pretty good at it. Also the clubs with the more reliable cars and better drivers do well. Needless to say if we have to stop the action to pull a car out of the tyre-wall, or worse still, to mop up spilled oil, it eats into the time available very quickly.
Also worth noting the strict noise limits at Goodwood... please do make it clear to all who are hoping to be on track that there are static and drive-by limits... and the organisers will have to be strict. The venue's license is more valuable than one individual's fun.
Moderators / HotWire... If I can assist at all, please let me know (pm maybe with a phone number / email?)

The fluency of getting cars in and out, is really critical, and of course traffic management on track is essential for everyone to have a good time.

Our event is 105dB static 101dB on drive past. Goodwood have a half hour cumulative noise limit so we will arrange cars sensibly.
I believe Jon or Gabriel will be contacting the Goodwood Marshalls Club in due course Mark.
Our aim is to get 80 cars three runs each (40 cars in morning, 40 cars in afternoon). One of our Special paddock displays will also be out on track for two 20 minute demo session, but we'll run those differently.

That's a good noise limit, higher than a 'regular' event... we're privileged. Yes, I know Jon and Gabriel - we'll try to drum up plenty of support from our Club... more hands make light work and all that (or is it Thomas Edison that does that?)

New venue - new learnings It's not like we haven't had to do this before I shall bring some more 'Ye Olde Corpse Reviver No. 2' for the Paddock God again Bribes to guarantee space in the track activity are forbidden This track thing is actually quite a challenge to get right timing wise with the variations of cars we bring, the sprint style of the event, the Goodwood noise regs (the slightly strange way they monitor it is actually more significant than the limits) plus the guest cars feature will be very different to the hill climb approach we've got used to. When I've got my ducks in a row and sense checked it all with gewy, gone back to HoTWire with the plan and timings and got the buy in from the admin team I'll kick a thread off with all the details. David can then use that as a reference point for the enquiries. My biggest concern right now is getting the numbers right, allowing enough time in the process so that everyone goes away happy having got the track time we committed to.

Just purchased myself a weekend camping ticket and a couple of stickers.
Now the important decision beckons : Do I drive the Trabant down from Glasgow or do I drive a sensible car down?

So what you're saying is, maybe no Trabant in the first year. Although the cheers and watching go up the hill were awesome.

Any ideas yet on roughly how much the track pass will cost and when the application may be open?

Any ideas yet on roughly how much the track pass will cost and when the application may be open? End of Feb or early March latest Cost - well we'd like to make it close as possible to £35 which is the RRG cost but if you want my gut feel the limitations in terms of numbers (120 spaces will be reduced to 80) and the additional costs of the Goodwood hire (compared to Shelsley) make it more likely to be £45

Are all camping tickets available now or are they being released in batches? Cheers Yes and no. I've put all we expect to sell on now and expect them to sell slower than the Gathering (new show and all that). However if by some miracle we sell out before I expect, we can find some more room, however we need to work out insurance etc. if that happens. So far we've sold a quarter of available tickets (for reference at this point in the first day of sale for RRG we'd be about 85% sold) Bought mine now so feel free to sell out here on in.

We're about a third sold out of our total, which is a nice place to be. Think we'll pick up through Jan and Feb. I really need to get advertising to Northern Europe as it is ideally positioned.

Any updates on the club bookings? It is open : retroridesweekender.com/ ... scroll down and click the Book Space button under the clubs bit, then fill in the form. There will be an update for the clubs soon that will allow them to edit their details. I'm hoping to get a scale map from Goodwood soon so I can do a full layout and know exactly how many spaces I've got and where
