Hello all and welcome to the for sale ad for my very rare on the roads now Audi 90 20v Quattro.
The main reason for sale is she does not get the use anymore and has been since sat up for 2 years! There is a reason for that lack of use.
I bought the car from an older retired gentleman, an ex engineer who loved and cared for the care for many years, in fact he had 2 of these, unfortunately he let the car sit up unused for approx. 4 years, he had spent much time and money on her including replacing the bolt and fixing for stainless steel and logged everything in a notebook which he gave me, and I mean everything! Including replacing small things like bulbs which bulb when and how much! The downside is he attempted to spray the N/S of the car and doesn't look great, I intended to sort this in fact give the car a full respray to get her where she deserves to be, upon purchasing the Audi I replaced the battery, wiper motor, wiper switch and wiper relay and also a cambelt and waterpump change, these are all genuine parts and not cheap, I put her through an MOT and passed with 1 advise on number plates which I replaced with ones again I purchased from my local Audi main dealer, I also replaced the centre pipe for a non resonated stainless part from Germany to release that beautiful 5 cylinder note no other car has on the road, I've always run her on V-power and put a decent fuel system cleaner through her to get rid of as much old fuel as possible and with every tank the Audi got better and faster! However unfortunately the dash binnacle stopped clocking miles up so I stopped driving her, I phoned around to find a decent company that repairs these old dashes, I found a company called cluster repairs UK and they absolutely ballsed the job up big time!! When I got the dash back after 2 months and no less than 30 phone calls it was not only not repaired but made worse and it came back with 138k miles on it the mileage was 146k miles! It now has a fault with the temperature gauge, temperature warning light and bulb warning light constantly illuminate, after a "polite" phone call there answer was its old and refunded me the repair fee and not the postage, I even sent the 2 donor dashes at there request so postage wasn't all that cheap either, so after feeling very let down and disheartened by the experience I parked her up for 2 years due to other projects taking priority I'm ashamed to say.
I have very recently got her up and running again replacing the battery again another tank of super unleaded and I have been using her on private land for long periods of time she gets up to temperature and stays there, I used a laser light temperature device to check this as the gauge isn't working, I love driving the Audi and the noise is addictive however I can not see myself ever getting the time to complete and enjoy her so I'm giving someone else the opportunity to take advantage of a rare Audi 90 twin cam Quattro.
I did put her through an MOT on Friday and she failed on the following:-
Front brake imbalance (due to lack of use discs and pads would solve this and a clean up of the sliders)
Front top mounts have play (can still get sport shocks and spring kits for these approx. £250 a set)
Rear brake imbalance on the O/S (same as front will need the O/S/R caliper either replacing or cleaning up a replacement is approx. £80 from Euro's)
The history on the Audi is fantastic! I had to take pictures of it as its vast and even includes old Audi repair instructions!
Has 4 keys in total as 1 key does the locks the other does the ignition, again these are Genuine Audi keys 1 of which has the factory light and also has 2 period Clifford alarm fobs which also operates the central locking and they both work as does all the central locking.
Factory diff lock works.
Electric front windows with armotronic rears as is the sunroof so nice and simple and all works.
Full service including K&N panel filter and cambelt and waterpump in the last 2 years or 1,000 miles.
Very rare Audi Sport leather steering wheel.
All in all a great proper classic Audi which is a rare site on British roads with huge potential.
