I recently got this in PX for my E21 BMW but cannot keep hold of it due to already having bought another car. It's a 1985 Type 19 GTI, 5 door, sunroof model.
Originally an 8v but has since been converted to a 2 litre 16v ABF
Keihim 37mm carbs off a ZX7R Kawasaki Ninja.
The carbs are mounted to a Danst Engineering inlet manifold
Omex 200 series ECU
Custom wiring loom
Omex Trumpets
Standard 8v GTI Gearbox with LUX clutch (covered 3k)
Much of the loom has been tucked, the battery has been relocated to the boot
MK3 GTI 256mm Front Calipers
MK4 rear brake conversion
HEL braided lines all round
Recent lower arms
JOM budget coilovers
OMP strut brace
MK3 fuel tank and pump
Miltek stainless 4 branch manifold
Custom stainless exhaust system
15 x 7 Ronal R8 alloys with polished lips
Good condition Toyo Proxes all round, plenty of tread
New radiator
New HT leads
New handbrake cables
New rear brake lines (copper)
New battery with 3 year warranty
New waterpump
New thermostat
New cambelt
MK3 diesel alternator (sits lower allowing more space)
Runs off a crank position sensor rather than typical distributor system, it's the only sensor that speaks to the OMEX ECU so a real simple system
Fully serviced 3 months ago, coolant flushed and refilled last week
11 months MOT
Mileage on car is around 90k but the clocks have been changed and show 142,000
Body and paintwork are very good, some slight defects here and there but no rot and overall amazing for the age, and mostly original paintwork.
Bad points:
Parcel shelf is sagging and broken
Headliner is starting to sag at the rear
Rev counter doesn't work, apparently you need a converter from OMEX
O/S wing mirror doesn't adjust
Needs a replacement windscreen wiper
Rear bumper is faded
The car runs really well, it hasn't had a choke fitted however it starts first time every time, just runs a little lumpy for the first few minutes on a cold start. Pulls well through all the gears and real quick. with the bike carbs and exhaust it's expected to be between the 160-170 bhp mark but hasn't been dyno'd yet as it runs so well. All electrics work as they should and I really can't fault the car, the previous owner did a great job building it and put in so much effort to make sure things were done properly. If it doesn't sell I'll be tempted to re-shell everything into a later spec 3 door and build a track car.
Any questions feel free to call or message me on 07793534861, I don't get on here too much.
