The latest project for the school motor club, following the departure of the marlin, is this gem of a kitten.
It's absolutely hanging inside and various parts of the body have seen better days. However the chassis seems solid where we can see, it rolls ok despite the flat tyre, the suspension seems tight (in a good way) and the engine turns over and gears engage.
The plan is to get it up on the ramp in the next few weeks, then start stripping it down. 90% of the interior will be going straight in the bin and the body will be coming off to strip and refurb the chassis. We'll then assess and make more of a plan
Pics to follow tomorrow when I can upload from a PC

As promised; picachoos! The interior is very mouldy, so much so I didn't even sit in it and make brm-brmmm noises... New (actually old, but different) seats are already lined up. Carpet is headed for the skip, rear seat likewise. The carb was loose and just plonked on, I know it's the wrong way round. We need to check the wiring and try and fire it up before we strip it right down. Some reading has shown that a Weber 34ICH is a suitable upgrade and these were for series land rovers, the club has a history of old land rovers so I've got my fingers crossed there might be one kicking around... Unfortunately a crack/hole in the roof and there was also a roof rack (!) fitted at some point, so we'll need to learn how to repair/patch GRP It's best side. Wheels are 10" alloy, unsure of the type, possibly KN? More to follow as it happens!

Oh i love Kittens. I almost bought one a while ago. Altho i prefer the estate/van style rear end. Plan was to convert it to electric, enough for 40mph and 20mile range. Storage space for it was the reason i didnt buy it in the end.
Not sure when ill get a chance to do this tho, but its still on my list of must haves.
Good luck!

The repairs to the fibreglass will probably double the strength of the shell, they're not the heaviest lay-ups! Might be an idea to add some reinforcement inside when you do, even steel conduit tube glassed in will help.

Some reading has shown that a Weber 34ICH is a suitable upgrade and these were for series land rovers The 34ICH comes in three choke sizes, make sure it's indeed the Landrover type (29mm) you need.
