A versatile Land Rover Series 2 SWB 88-inch presented in show winning condition.
EQUIPMENT
Rigid box section galvanised chassis, light alloy body panels, steel fittings, adjustable draw bar pull, foldaway door steps, hinged heated front screen, tilt bed, bonnet mounted spare wheel holder, internally adjustable ventilation flaps, wing mounted mirrors, rear side seats, Smiths heater, twin wipers, electric screen wash, amperage gauge, front seatbelts, sliding windows, overdrive.
EXTERIOR
This iconic and very desirable early Series 2 Land Rover is finished in striking Marine Blue and presents in near immaculate condition. Attention to detail can be witnessed in all areas including the underside which will amaze spectators expecting to see utilitarian components plastered in mud rather than being very clean! Headlamps mounted in the grille area reveal the early design features favoured by many. Basic in all respects with a few exterior options such as the adjustable draw bar pull, foldaway doorsteps and immaculate colour coded Cotton Duck canvas hood. Being the Regular Truck Cab on the 88-inch chassis this quintessentially British classic will steal the hearts of many.
INTERIOR
Sparse and utilitarian but packed with enduring Land Rover appeal this interior is truly sublime. Essential improvements such as the contoured black vinyl seats with seat belts combined with heavy duty Land Rover rubber floor mats add a little comfort. Beautifully detailed original features such as the Lucus independent wiper motors, working Smiths heater and ornate three-spoke steering wheel join all working controls and gauges. Modern discrete touches such as an electric screen wash and heated front screen are useful features. The rear has a tilt bed and side seats with a painted Marine Blue floor all in immaculate condition. Difficult to fault.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The four cylinder 2286cc petrol engine with overhead inlet and exhaust valves produces 77bhp and 124lbft of torque. Rugged simple engineering with the benefit of being gas flowed and an unleaded head, this engine has been proven worldwide. Meticulously detailed and spotlessly clean to allow bonnet up exhibiting. A tough four speed gearbox with a two speed transfer box gives eight forward speeds and two reverse. The desirable overdrive is fitted. A real ‘go anywhere’ machine.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original factory pressed steel disc wheels are finished in Old English White which complements the Marine Blue bodywork perfectly. The wheels are shod in Avon Rangemaster tyres which all show plenty of tread. The hydraulically operated footbrake and the handbrake operating on the transmission shaft, performs well.
HISTORY FILE

Original sales brochure, old MOT’s and spare keys.
