Welcome to this 1971 Rover P6 2000TC, BOF 668K has had 4 previous owners, the last one being from 1988 until very recently. 90k on the clocks. Full MOT with NO ADVISORIES, mot tester said “what a lovely old car”!
Lots of old MOTs (27 previous) old Tax Disks and Original Handbooks And Manuals!!
Finished in Lunar Grey with Black Leather interior this car is in excellent condition for its age with a base unit that is rust free, all usual P6 corrosion areas such as D Posts, inner sills and box sections appear to have been undersealed but show no signs of rust or previous repair…. A very rare thing indeed! Even the link arm mounting in the boot hasn’t been welded. This has to be one of the best base units I have ever come across.
Bodywork is very good with no signs of any filler in any of the panels, there are some age related marks and signs of “touch ups” to some of the panels but these are purely cosmetic and are all historic and form part of the cars history, I will be very critical and say that the whilst the paintwork is reasonable it could do with a refresh and this would make this an outstanding vehicle but its still perfectly serviceable none the less, it looks stylish from ANY angle you look at it from. Testament indeed to the designers who first put pen to paper back in the late 50s
The Black leather interior shows very little wear and has a lovely patina, it really is a nice place to be.
Chrome work is all very presentable with only minor pitting, both bumper blades are also straight with no damage.
Mechanically the car has a 2200TC engine which is in excellent shape with good oil pressure, no overheating and runs smoothly from the moment its started, gearbox and clutch operate well with no issues.
On the road the car behaves well with excellent brakes and steering, no knocks, rattles or any other undue issues.
The car has many desirable optional extras such as E.T. Front Headrests, Rear Headrests, Lucas Square 8 front fog lamps (Chrome Backed), Black Vinyl roof, 3500s Style wheel trims, Continental touring spare wheel mounting on boot lid and sundym tinted glass These features make this car look very smart and are all quite valuable and prized in the P6 world.
With the last P6 produced in May 1977 its taken a long time for these stylish classics to start to gain in value, but recently the P6s day has finally come and they are gaining the recognition they deserve and values are rising accordingly.
I am going to put my faith in the publics love and affection for the P6 and start this auction at 99p with NO RESERVE as I could enthuse about this car all day, it really is that nice
