So here we have my 1988 Mini Mayfair 998cc manual.
M.O.T until May 2018 with no advisories.
53,500 miles but will go up slightly as still in use.
Bodywork:
This is now the 5th Mini that I have owned and this is the best condition one out of the lot. The car is 100% solid and doesn't have the typical floor or sill rot. It appears that the boot floor has been replaced and had a respray prior to me purchasing it.
The roof on the car has a few dents which could be pushed out by someone who knows what they're doing, also there is a tiny patch on the roof where the paint has came away (can be seen in the pictures)
On the passenger rear quarter there is a tiny rust bubble which isn't causing any problems but if you're a perfectionist you would get it repaired, along with a small dent next to it.
The scuttle has a tiny rust bubble but not bad at all.
The paintwork on the car is in great condition and always gets compliments everywhere I go.
A nearly new set of Dunlop D1 alloys with very good tyres will come on the car, these cost around £400.
Quick release front grille which makes it so much easier for tinkering.
Front headlight have been replaced for uprated and brighter alternatives.
Interior
Carbon effect dashboard which a 3 clock binnacle
JVC Stereo fitted, USB and Aux output. Would benefit from improved speakers as currently just a speaker box in the back.
Deluxe blue carpets
Equinox seats and door cards in exceptional condition, almost like new.
Astralli leather steering wheel.
Chrome gearknob and handbrake
Mechanical
As with the majority of Minis the 998cc is as sweet as a nut, but with a tiny oil leak.
Upgraded to a stage one RC40 exhaust system from the manifold back which has a great little noise.
I have replaced the standard points and condenser for the electronic ignition system
The HS2 carb has been stripped down, rebuilt and set up along with the timing to make sure it is running perfectly. (this work was carried out by Carb Care, who appeared on Car S.O.S)
Fletcher stainless steel radiator and silicone hose set up fitted.
New Battery, New fuse box, CV boots replaced both sides, Steering gaitors replaced, new rear wheel bearings, New rear petrol pipe.
As you can see from the description, my Mini has had a lot of money spent on it to get it to the current condition, apart from the bodywork the car requires nothing doing to it.
I would consider a cheaper part exchange as part of the deal
Cash on Collection / Bank transfer
