So I'm thinking of letting go my little Nissan S12 Turbo that a picked up a couple of months ago. I purchased this as a weekend toy and to put in a garage and watch the value go up, but unfortunately I have lost access to a garage now and recently purchased a 997, so have fallen out of love with it It's a 1985 mk1 Nissan silvia turbo s12. Got just 65k miles on it and passed its last mot with no advisories. Slight bit of rust around the arches, but other than that in great condition. The guy I got it off has had it 20 years and done only 5k miles in the last ten years, just driving locally to keep it on the road. It's totally original other than the radio, but it came with the original too. The car is 31 years old so isn't immaculate, but as there are so few of these, you probably won't find one as good as this. To find one with the rear spoiler still intact is rare,showing this has been well stored over the last 20 years. If you are genuinely interested, send me a PM. The price isn't fixed as it's hard to value, so anyone who is genuinely interested please make a fair offer (more or less than the advertised price) The car starts and drives first time everytime. Pulls well and drives as it should. I can provide pictures of the rusty areas for anyone interested. Also open to swaps for retro rides of similar value. Thanks Jamie      |

Put a sensible reserve on and run a 10 day auction with a really good hi-res photo portfolio and accurate description, link into your listing from as many relevant auto sites as possible, encourage viewings and you should get the best market value. You might get dicked about a bit before someone buys and have to re-run the auction a few times. Someone might turn up waving enough greenbacks to persuade you to sell outside the auction. You can always put an ambitious 'buy it now' price on the listing. Make sure there are as few niggles as possible and that the car is really well valeted inside and out. Maximum effort = Maximum return! Left to the market to value I'd be very interested to see what this would sell for. ebay listing feesAnother idea is to pitch up at Classic car shows with a for sale sign in the window. Two of my Dad's mates have 'tried it on' with their cars this show season, neither being desperate to sell they've put prices on their respective cars that they though no-one would pay and they've both been snapped up, (£10K for a 2 litre Capri & £35K for an MG TD). |

Thanks to everyone who has sent me PMs and offers. As I don't know what it's worth, I think I may follow the advice of everyone and list it on eBay and see what it gets. I have had offers over the list price, so who knows what is with.
Today it's had a two stage machine polish so looks stunning.

I think that's wise, fingers crossed that the best ebay bid significantly exceeds your best offer. |

Hi, it didn't sell as I have been so busy over the last few months I haven't had time to host any viewings of it.
It's due an MOT in November, so I might put 12 months on it and then get it on eBay. If someone offered the asking price of £3k though I would let it go. Not for less at the moment though.
