After a recent bit of soul-searching, I have decided that my trio of Fiat 127s will not see the road again with me - partly because I'm a 'robust' 6'5" and I can't actually get in them. I have been stockpiling the cars, panels and parts for a few years with the intention of building two good cars from the three, but various other projects have me more fired up than these. Along with other commitments, I won't have much free time over the next couple of years so these need to go.
There are three cars, though I only have photos of the first one as the others are at the back of the back shed (I'll post pics of them tomorrow):
1. An S reg 127 saloon (ie bootlid and fixed screen, not a hatch) with a 903 engine. This car has been carefully stripped to a bare rolling shell and sandblasted - I was feeling brave! It will need front wings, sills, rear arches, rear panel, doors and a repair to the front panel and screen surround. The floors etc are surprisingly fine. Sound like a lot but I have panels - see below.
2. Another 903 saloon - this is toast, but has plenty of good parts and is complete and rolling.
3. An X reg 1050 hatch. This car is complete bar bumpers, and I have given it a fair going over looking for rot. It definitely needs sills, a bonnet, and doors with sundry smaller repairs elsewhere.
I have not had any of these cars running, but the 1050 and one of the 903's are turning ok, and the 1050 would run with an hours work. I would recommend strongly coming to view these in person if you are interested as your opinion and mine of a restorable car will differ. Plenty of work required, but rare as hen's teeth and cooler than a penguin's whatnot - but if you have read this far you know that already! I have a four post ramp so you can come and poke at their nether bits as you wish.
I've put a price up of £1000 for all three, but I will do deals for one, two or three of these depending on what you want. I am aware that three cars equals three trailers, and that this level of Italian flair, style and panache is never just round the corner from your house so travel could well be involved.
HOWEVER
By separate negotiation, and initially only available to the buyers of the cars, I have a pile of parts including (but not limited to) the following:
Two pairs of new wings
Two new bonnets
One new door, two used doors
one new front panel (inner and outer)
One new rear panel
Two sets of rear arches
Four new sills
A large pile of new mechanical parts including brakes, service parts, suspension etc - enough for one car and a good start on a second.
There are two sets of alloy wheels - one set of Palio/Sport alloys and one set of Campagnolas. Both need refurbished.
I'm more than willing to deal on all the cars and all the parts together - it would make sense to me, but I'm the kind of character who buys cars he doesn't fit....
Basically a whole pile of Italian goodness just waiting for someone with more passion than me to put it together. Message me or call me on 07717163232 to arrange a visit to view them in Dumfries, SW Scotland (30 miles from Carlisle). I am open to part exchanges with cash my way, but prefer pre '85 and with chrome - try me.
