Yeah don't follow anyone else hoping they know the way as there's a good chance they're sitting there waiting to see if you turn off LOL!

Good choice, am doing one on Friday night and another autotest on Sunday morning.
Firstly, of course, make sure your car is prepared, usual stuff, oil, water and petrol (duh!)
Don't go too quick, the red-mist is bound to appear but relax and take it steady, it makes driver/navigator communication much easier.
A good quality, directional map light is good, means the driver can drive without distraction (a head torch is always good but you'll look a bit like the cave tour leader on The League of Gentlemen)
Take a bottle of water with you in the car, once the adrenaline starts pumping you will be desparate for a drink.
Take some extra pens/pencils too, you are bound to lose them under the seat on the way.
Have fun, all good road-rallies finish at a pub!
Let us know how you get on.

If you are interested in autotests, let me know, we run them in the Oxford area. I drive this car to work everyday and do this at weekends!!!

I assume it's a Navex? Navigational rally? Time-Speed-Distance? Foot-rest for the navigator. I assume you haven't lowered their seat so something to bring the knees up. Its their work surface after all. Good calculator (plus spare) if your rules allow. Two stopwatches, with their own clocks. (loved Haldas, never had one) We used to used the aluminum clip boards with compartment underneath. Keeps pencils, calculators, erasers and Gravol handy. Tape a time-speed-distance chart to the back of it. Not withstanding the following--Sticky notes-- "Un-clutter" the driving compartment. Keep only what you really need. Minimizes distractions. (I held the local Navigator title a couple years, way back when) (insert sigh here)
