Hi all,
I have my Citroen 2CV for sale. Below I have just copied my eBay listing - I am a true car nut and love all older cars - this is just a super vehicle.
I purchased this car about a year ago from a collector who had stashed this car in a dry barn, on his farm in Warwickshire.
It was my view to restore this car but I could be about to lose my storage so this is unfortunately up for sale.
A unique opportunity to buy a genuine low mileage, numbers matching car, with original owners service manual, service book and optional 6 year anti-corrosion guarantee.
There are 4 former owners listed on the V5 - this is currently in my name, registered correctly to my home address.
I have All of the old MOTs with this car, from 1989 through to 1998 when the car was stored in a dry barn - it drove in there back in 1998 so I was informed with an MOT still current.
There is a lot of history with the car also, lots of private receipts and Citroen garage parts purchased over the years.
Fast forward to 2016 - I purchased this vehicle and completed a full service on the car, new oil, filters, carburetor rebuild, replacement coil, spark plugs, drained the fuel tank, new fuel hoses and filter, new HT leads and re-set the timing. The car runs well, fires up without any issue from cold. I also replaced the hood on the car with a new item, using the original glass and steel structure in black - this has no rips and is water tight and in very good condition (please see photo)
The shell of the car is in very good condition, it wears its original paint from what I can see though stone chips cover the front of the car and arches.
There is a little bit of rust around the rear boot area, this is common for these cars I am told - the shell itself has had no welding that I can see at all - Foot wells are original.
Interior wise it needs recovering, the seat frames are good. A little rust is present here and there but It looks all surface rust to me, rather than rot.
The Chassis is original and has had a plate or two in the past, it would require one more to pass an MOT.
The tyres, amazingly, have not been inflated by myself ever - they are original to the car, cracked and require replacement, they hold air perfectly however.
The tool kit and spare tyre along with the original wooden block are present and correct, all of the glass is clean without marks or cracks.
Around my field the car starts, engages all gears, stops (very well) and everything is functional electric wise - wipers, indicators, lights, heater etc are all working.
Viewings are welcome and very much encouraged - the above is an honest description of the car but come and see it for yourself over a cup of tea, the car is not stored at my home address but I can move it here for that purpose if required.
Absolutely no time wasters or part exchange offers - the lack of proper storage is the reason for the sale.
NG34 is where I am based, in Sleaford.
