A man, a plan a canal, Panama!
I really want to get a palindromic number plate -reads and looks the same forwards as backwards.
Trouble is I have a G plated car, can't go newer - so I am quite limited on choice.
Letters I can use are A H M S(5) T V W X Y
Numbers are 1 5(S) 8 0
So far I can get
A50 OSA
X58 BSX
A55 SSA
X50 OSX
M88 BBM, S88 BBS, V88 BBV, W80 OBW and so on just be changing the first and last letters and picking any number above apart from 1
A80 OBA ( A BooB A? - better not)
If anyone can think of any others - A50 OSA is the only one I can use at the moment.

Why limit yourself to your chosen letters for the first and last digit?
You can use A to G at the beginning and the end and still make a palindrome style plate.

It has to read the same in the rear view mirror as well.

It has to read the same in the rear view mirror as well. But a backwards 5 isn't an S, and vice versa... All the other digits you've chosen are symmetrical, except the S and 5, and they aren't mirror images of each other, they are oriented in the same direction. So if you're not limiting yourself to symmetric or mirror image digits, then you may as well all the available ones at your disposal.

Just print any made up plate you want and roll with it. The law doesn't seem to care, neither the DVLA. So long as you haven't duplicated someone else's plate and it doesn't show up as a plate on the system (so anpr won't spot it) it seems you can hit n run, leave the scene of an accident, speed and roll with no insurance or tax without consequence, according to a few sad incidents I've heard of recently.

If your car is a G plate then surely you can't have any of these
X58 BSX X50 OSX M88 BBM, S88 BBS, V88 BBV, W80 OBW
Only the A plate ones are older than G.

ANPR will flag a 'non-registered' plate with No Match.

X50 OSX number, I am concerned that you have access to buy this. I already have this on my vehicle and I bought it from DVLA when I first registered it. It has never been for sale!

He didn't say he could buy it. He just pointed out it was a 'palindrome style' plate. It couldn't even be transferred onto his car even if he wanted too as the OPs car is too old.
