Took a Rootes 4 cylinder engine out today  Took the starter motor off and...........  Methinks this could be somewhat problematic  |

I see lots of straw - have mice been nibbling the block? What are your plans? Suggest you count the conrods and pistons to make sure they're all where they should be before deciding on a rebuild  I was offered a "good" (honest guv!  ) Rootes 1725 engine last week, PM me if you need one and we might be able to do something. Seriously, this engine has not run for something like 13 years!. The thing that surprised me was that before I took it out we sorted the spark and witha cupful of petrol it fired and ran for a few seconds!
I know you can't tell for sure like that, but I was amazed how willing it was. This is a parts vehicle only so I'll strip it for any useable bits and the rest will get weighed in
