The centre box on my stainless steel exhaust is blowing at the centre box after catching on speed bumps.
Does anyone recommend somewhere that can repair the centre box or weld it with out wanting to replace whole system?
Don't know who made the exhaust originally.
Cheers

Any fabricator welders place should be able to do it if you can get it off the car. It may well happen again so might be worth asking if they can plate it or skid it as shown in the link here with ashley exhausts. Just simply a bit of sheet steel to wear out before your exhaust goes or to stop the edge of the silencer actually catching on the road. www.motorsport-tools.com/ashley_exhausts.html

If it can be fixed with a hammer, then it must be an electrical fault

Jim, only problem I am not able to get the exhaust off so not sure if your mate would be happy to get under the car.
He does some cool bikes though

You will struggle getting it welded properly in situ mate. Needs to be off the car to get it clean and get into it to weld properly otherwise there's no point in welding it up. The amount to contaminants inside the exhaust will make it a pain, whoever welds it will likely want to use tig if possible. Welding anything on your back is a right pain!

WK Auto Solutions in long eaton sorted the exhaust for really good deal.
Considering they look after Time Attack Evos they even liked a Vauxhall Cavalier. Recommended

you can mig weld stainless steel with mild steel wire even though the weld will go rusty eventually its a quick fix.

the exhaust had to come off as the end of the centre box split, at least it is a bit quieter now.
Good job retro rides hill climb doesn't have a noise limit
