I'm sure the M5s MAF is a bit dodgy and contributing to my running issues. Normally Id just replace it but with prices varying from a grand to 1600 quid depending on where you look, you can understand my reluctance.
Are there any UK based companies that offer a testing/service facility?

the trouble is when someone cleans the maf with the wrong stuff! ie brake cleaner (which leaves impurities ) ive cleaned mafs with the proper electronic contact cleaner (maplins) and usually sorts them out unless its an internal fault

The effectiveness of cleaning also depends on other things.
On the Range Rover P38, the early Lucas/GEMS MAF cleans quite happily, but the later Boch/THOR ones don't.
