hi all, apart from my hotrod build on here, i recently picked up a 1950 plymouth coupe, mainly to go the summer shows and events:
when i picked up the car the front wheel cylinder was leaking, and the brake shoes were perished, leaving me with 2 options... buy some new shoes from the states (approx £130 delivered) or the second option was to have the shoes relined. after a google search i found a place over dudley that offers a relining service, spoke to the guy on the phone, he said approx £50 and 7 days lead time. i thought bloody hell thats a no brainer. so i popped over the following day and dropped them off, guy was pretty helpful when i arrived.
i mentioned to the chap that there was a few events coming up that i wanted to attend in the car and just double checked the lead time, his words were " around 7 days, it wont be weeks or anything".
that was on the monday morning, i gave them a call friday just out of interest to see how they was geting on. just in the slim chance i might have them for that weekend. he told me " not yet but we usually get them back in monday from the relining company, we will be in touch" i thought fair enough thats fine.
where i work i don't usually get signal so i thought ill give them a call monday afternoon just incase they hadnt been able to get in contact with me, i was rudely spoke to about them contacting me instead of me talking to them. this was of course after 7 days..
so gave them till the friday, now nearly 2 weeks after i gave them the parts, again because of being hard to get hold of i just wanted to double check nothing had changed since the last time i spoke to them. i was answered by a guy that was completly funny with me from the start, his words were "can you stop calling here and we have told you we will contact you when they come in."
tomorrow will be a week after that last conversation. so nearly 3 weeks since i dropped them off. still no contact from them. dragstaliga is this weekend, an event i really wanted to take the car to,
and hotrod hayride in a couple of weeks, my first time and the main reason i picked up the car to make a mini holiday of it. I'm now worried that i wont have the parts back or have time to source some from america in time.
would anyone else be questioning them again? i don't think I'm being unreasonable to asking for updates but whenever they pick up the phone its like I'm calling 5 times a day. 3 phonecalls over nearly 3 weeks on a 7 day lead time service.

what would you guys do??
