So, after our trip to Tokyo last year I did a short trip to Berlin with that same friend. Not focussed on cars this time, but ofcourse we did spot some cool cars and bikes. I'll just post the retrorides, so this topic will be shorter than the one for Japan Mercedes S123_DSC8456 bewerkt by G C, on Flickr Mercedes R109, US-import_DSC8496 bewerkt-2 by G C, on Flickr _DSC8497 bewerkt by G C, on Flickr Almandine red C124, it really looks "German" on those wheels _DSC8500 bewerkt by G C, on Flickr Hmmm, Lexus. I need this in my life _DSC8535 bewerkt by G C, on Flickr

That ford panel van is so cool - and uber-rare I bet! Did it drive by when you were sitting outside a pub and then you followed it to take the other pics? My gf used to live most of her life a little bit north from where you captured it (in Berlin - Prenzlauer Berg) Nope, the other way round: we first saw it parked by the road and it later drove by while we were having a drink. Very cool car indeed. Actually we just walked over from Prenzlauer Berg and loved it: wide lanes with trees, old buildings (KulturBrauerei,...), cafés,.... Of all the parts of town we visited, that was the place I could see myself living immediately

My gf lived her first 28 years in prenzlberg before she left berlin. In 1989 she lived very close to the bridge over to berlin-wedding, which was opened as one of the first check points. I lived right next to that bridge, in Gleimstrasse, for a year in 2011-12.

Hah, I was wondering if that s-class (w126) was captured on schoenhauser allee? My gf lived her first 28 years in prenzlberg before she left berlin. In 1989 she lived very close to the bridge over to berlin-wedding, which was opened as one of the first check points. Today she would not want to live there anymore. Her part of the city has changed so very much, so many people want to live there today, house or just rental prices went to the moon etc. Too scene-ish today. We live in a small town near cologne today, but we hardly aim for the big city. The W126 was on the Eberwalder Strasse, but the green W116 was on Schoenhauser Allee (as were the T1, the Beetle,...)

Brilliant pics. I especially liked the Audi Coupe with the old DIN1451 'plate. That was just such a cool typeface. The new one looks wibblepoo.
