Hello,
Anyone know of a supplier of touch up paints that can do Rootes group colours?
After Tartan Red 085 but no luck finding any.
Any help appreciated! Cheers

Most paint places can match to pattern , so if there is a part like a glovebox lid you can use as a sample they should be able to match it.

Good shout, I can't think of anything that'll bolt off easily, but I guess I may be able to actually drive it to somewhere and have them do it possibly. Will see if I can call a couple of local places.
In the meantime if anyone does know a supplier that knows the mixes for rootes colours I'm definitely interested!
Cheers.

I would take the same approach, find a local bodyshop or paint supplier, most busy bodyshops these days will have a full paint mixing facility onsite so they'll just mix up to suit, however will be for use in a spray gun, so a paint supplier would be more useful as many will do cans, I have seen some that require activating before use so I guess they're 1k or 2k?? been a while since I bought any paint myself though.

If I keep the car long enough 'proper' paintwork will be on the cards, but for now I'd really like to get hold of a pot just to touch in a few bits. I'll see what the local guys can come up with definitely.
Cheers guys

There is a company that specialises in period paint colours for classic cars run by a knowledgeable individual - that has been in the vehicle refinishing industry all his life - If 'Ken' cant sort this for you then nobody can - they do mail order etc - link below www.carrestorationpaints.co.uk/

If you are in Warwick go to Paintstore in Leamington Spa. Their matching is very good. I think Jawel paints also can do a similar thing.
No one could match my Leyland White 19 on the Triumph but they could ; it had been previously mixed incorrectly.
Another friend had has wings painted off the paint code despite being warned that age/mixing the paint incorrectly could have thrown it off. The match is bad on that!

Found a place down the road from work that have the scanner thing and reckon they can scan the paint and mix me up a touch up pot.
Cheers all, gonna give them a try.
