Here we have is a lovely 1991 MX-5 that needs some restoration work to bring her back to her former glory. She is a genuine UK registered car in the stunning Mariner Blue. The car is equipped with Fully Functioning electric windows, power steering, original MOMO steering wheel, pioneer speakers and a set of 14" alloy wheels. The interior is standard apart from the gear knob and has some age related wear and tear especially on the drivers seat. The hood is a little tatty with a crack in the window (tapped) and two small holes on both side however it is water tight but should ideally be replaced. The 1.6 twin cam engine runs as sweet as the day it left the factory and is started every couple of days with no hesitation and it pulls very well in all gears not bad for a car that has 128,000 miles on the clock however the sump gasket leaks but its not too bad. In the boot there is a factory space saver, new battery which is only 1 month old and cost £70, new brake pads front and rear (not fitted) that I bought last week at a cost of £50 and a new old filter with 5 litres of 10w/40 oil. The suspension is really tight and it has a set of unbranded coilovers fitted. The body on this car really lets it down unfortunately I had it MOT'd at work today and it failed on structural rust, the list is as follows, o/s rear sill corroded, n/s rear inner sill corroded, both front floors have a hole in the front corners, o/s front chassis rail has a hole, the chassis rail near the bottom wishbone mount has a huge hole that was filled with fibreglass! and the n/s rear brake caliper is sticking. I only bought this car a couple of months ago from a private garage, where it has been sat for 4 years, with the attention of getting back on the road however I just don't have the time to restore her because of my Spitfire restoration. It would be horrible to see this car scrapped or broken because it really deserves to be restored as the MK1 MX-5 is a fast appreciating classic and could be worth a bit of money in the near future. I'm only asking £550 for her which I think is really cheap for 1 of these and with a bit of work she could be work £5000. If anybody is interested or has any questions, please feel free to pm me and I will respond to everyone. Cash and collection only on a trailer.
Many thanks for looking,
Connor
