BMW E28 520i LUX
Bronzit-Biege 123k on the clock
MOT March 2018
After Market stereo usb/aux
Sat on lovely genuine dished RC090s Style5s ET22 albeit they are lime green (was going to colour code them to the car) They were fully refurbished about 3 months ago, wrapped in brand new 215/45/R17 high end budget tyres
Starts 1st time, every time, drives as it should, pulls well, no high speed wobbles, not up to 80mph anyway, I haven't exceeded this so can't comment on that. If you're an officer of the law, I obviously mean 70 mph.
Recently had a new thermostat, top hose, fan clutch and completed a 260 mile round trip
Extensive history with the car, previous owner was a DR/University Lecturer and took the time to write to previous owners and find out the service history, garages that were used and wrote to each one
My moneys on her making her students do it as part of a course haha but either way its all there. There is even a reply from the Regional Customer Service Advisor in regards to a previous owner been worried about leaded fuel phased out in 1999.
Other parts of the history let you know it had a new clutch and master clutch cylinder in 2010, along with welding to the cills in the same year, new break pipes/cables in 2015
Every MOT the car has been through, pass or fail, is there, this wont matter to all but its always nice for you to have the history of a vehicle of this age.
I am currently the 7th owner
So, you've made it this far, its all sounding reasonably good but then you remember the price is only £1800, whys that?
Well, that's because despite all the care and meticulousness of previous owners, none of them appeared to be that bothered about the cosmetics. Its got rust and dink issues
If i was to keep the car and finish it to as close to new as possible from a cosmetic point of view, I'd either replace or reskin both n/s doors as they are both a tad rotten on the front internal corners, the rear bumper has a dink in the middle and showing shines of surface rust (they generally rust from the inside out) the front bumper is okish, small patch of lacquer peel on the boot lid and bonnet, there is a few small dinks in the rear o/s wing. I'm sure I've missed some bits and bobs here and there, its always best to come view a car to see for yourself. Any questions, I'll answer as honestly as possible or trawl through the history if the answer is likely to be in there.
PX wise, any pre 2000 rwd 2 seaters, Z3, MX5 etc. Any 80/90s four door saloons, Cavs, Nova saloon, W124 or similar, Escort, Astra or the like. If its newer than 2000 (original manufacture date) I wont be interested, if its a Volvo, i wont be interested, nothing against Volvos but I had a weird dream as a child that a died in one, so ye, I'm just steering clear of them, better safe than sorry lol Also, anything you have to start with a crank handle, got a bad shoulder.
Car is located in Birmingham, 5 mins from J7 of M6
Any questions please ask on 07867490566
Id like a firm £1800, price can be negotiated if you bring your own wheels? or PX for above listed cars/shapes/sizes and very similar.
Thanks for reading.
