mechanicals - recent filter / oil changes (engine, diff, gearbox, fuel filter etc). has had new tyres on recently. Engine is a 2.3 auto box, engine runs spotless quiet and is happy to cruise at 70 - 80 on the motorway, gearbox works perfect drops down gears like it should. new battery, injectors cleaned, new front lower ball joints. The owner before me had it off an old boy and it was completely standard, hes done most of the work to it and has had thousands spent on the mechanicals, the list of new parts on it was incredible when I bought it, I have just done the upkeep on it. In my time I have thrown it through 2 MOTs with little or no work. I myself have put 25k + miles on it since I bought it and its never let me down once, the odd thing like fuses and a dead battery (new one now on it now) yes. but ive never been in the situation where it wont start / having to be recovered and I used this as my daily for over a year. It has been a truly reliable car for me and was a nice change from my on / off relationship with my old car (vw bug).
exterior - it has had a full respray in a really nice metallic green 2 years ago and the paint is pretty much perfect, also had 4 new arches on. deep shine to it and I'm always getting comments about how well it looks. roof is wrapped in a pearl white matt and suites the car well, again no rips or faded spots on the roof. The front lower valance does have some stone chips, and the rear bumper has a small dent where the exhaust has come back and hit the lower rear valance (pictured). I have been meaning to get this color matched since I bought the car but ive never really been bothered and If it was me I would just touch it up myself as it is really minor. Chrome all great, what you see is what you get, its in amazing condition for a 84 car and you will struggle to find one better for the money. white walls could do with a good degrease but they are just ATLAS inserts and I have new spares so will try and get them fitted, if not will come with the car. Sits on its original 14' steels with cream coded hubcaps, I was toying with the idea of putting it on some newer chrome merc wheels but I think it looks just as good with the period wheels. Has big wall tires on it so it rides smooth as it was intended to and also gives the option to go lower or bigger wheels.
underneath - its absolutely solid underneath every time I take it for an mot the guy comments on how good it is for its age. I have got some photos of the underneath I will add, I have been meaning to get it up on a mates ramp for better photos but I just don't have the time so inspections are more than welcome. All sills are fine, spare wheel well etc all good throughout. still has the original Mercedes underseal on. Has had one patch in the rear wheel well that has been done professionally, I can get photos of this but the photos struggle to pick it up as it has been blended back and under sealed (I will point this out to anyone willing to come and view the car).
interior - full mb tex Mercedes leather look in a darkish cream with dark green carpets. realy looks nice inside, proper classy. has one small fag burn on rear seat but other than that is perfect. No wear or and tears anywhere, drivers seat is even perfect. Has a period namatakchi (wrong spelling I'm sure) tape deck radio with AUX lead and removable head unit. Up rated speakers in the front and a color matched sub woofer in the boot, nothing too big just enhances the sound. Has been sound deadened and is a realy relaxed and quiet place to be when driving. Headlining is perfect and has a HUGE electric sunroof that works all day every day. Front electric windows have been replaced by winders. heated rear screen, etc.
has mot till 03 feb 2018 but can put a freshy on if needed. It has been lowered and is low enough to look sleek but yet can still be driven anywhere. Like I said I drove it full time for over a year through snow and rain and even the odd speed bump. I have a new car now so am looking to part with this but am in no rush to sell.
have been as honest as I can be and will show you round the car and the bits I have pointed out, the car speaks for its self and gets looks and questions from all ages.
