Well all, I started this car a few years ago for one of my friends, he got it as a old rally shell and I fitted a cossie engine and box and some suspension to it, at the time he was starting a new business and just didn't have the time or money to put into it so it got broke. The shell never sold so as part of some deal I ended up with it as he got it one when i was trying to convince him to keep it me getting it home I got this a while back to put the engine into a p100 (should have stuck with that plan the engine fitted nicely into that) It doesn't fit into this as low and as far back as I can get it it still sticks up past the bonnet

I fix up a big old ac/dc tig welder at work and i'm trying to teach myself how to use it so i'm trying to make up a alloy sump... My plan to to do the bit over the steering rack first then see how big i can make the back bit. Just trying to do the little bit at the front this happen a few times with a big bang got there in the end It's a big mess and will probably end up in the bin but during the week i'll try make up the back bit, if it doesn't work out i'll make a steel one to the same size, I've done a few steel ones in the past for different engine with no problems so plan b should work

RWD mk3 Escorts are AWESOME! I'll be keeping a close eye on this project.

There are differing exhaust manifolds depending on the donor Saab (NG900/9000/9-5) - maybe one of those might help?

Is it tubbed for 15,s ?? And also looks like the neck of the exhaust manifold could also be chopped nr the flange and rotated 180degree to point upwards for more clearance ??

It's not got massive tubes like you'd have on something like a gp4 mk2 escort but i think there should be enough room for the 15s. I wouldn't like to try chop and weld the manifold to get it 180 degree but could maybe make up a U pipe to get it up out of the way.
